Candle Safety

It’s vital that you follow these safety tips when using your candle.

  • Keep your candle out of reach of children and pets.
  • Never leave your candle burning unattended, on an unbalanced surface or close to fabric, drafts or flammable objects.
  • Your first burn is the most important. We advise that you burn the candle long enough to create an even wax ring that reaches the vessel walls, this ensures a healthy burn life.
  • Don’t burn your candle for longer than 4 hours in one burn session.
  • Trim your wick to approx 3mm before each use, removing any debris from the wax and mushrooms that may have formed on the wick.
  • Be sure your candle is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface and ample of distance away from walls or anything the heat may mark.
  • Don’t burn your candle all the way down - know when to say goodbye, and leave 1/2 inch of wax in the bottom of the container.
  • Never touch or move a burning candle when the wax is liquid. Candle jars can get very hot when burning, please therefore avoid touching the vessel walls when burning or recently burned.
  • Place burning candles at least 10cm apart from one another.
  • Use a snuffer to avoid hot wax splattering, and never use water to put out the flame.
